Can We Prevent the Construction of This Ugly and Intrusive Building On the Corner of Cavalry Crescent and North Avenue?
A special interest Facebook group has been initially set up to discuss the proposed residential building by Eastbourne Council on the corner of Cavalry Crescent and North Avenue.
It’s currently under consideration with the Eastbourne Council planning department, where a decision on the demolition of a number of existing homes is expected by mid June 2021.
Information about the demolition of two-storey houses, followed by the inevitable construction of a taller and significantly larger block of flats, has been made available to a small number of local residents, while many neighbours and interested parties are completely unaware of these plans.
The purpose of this group is to try and engage with residents from Cavalry Crescent, North Avenue and the immediate surrounding area, including Central Avenue, to get a discussion going, and to test the strength of feelings from local residence.
You can join the group via the link below, where your thoughts and concerns about parking, traffic flows, the impact on schools and local services, from the increased occupancy, can be aired, and will be most welcome.
There is of course, the thought that if this construction goes ahead, the council may seek to demolish further homes and build additional similar blocks in the area.
While this issue will be of little interest to the vast majority of Eastbourne residents, this page has been set up as it’s probably fair to say that local reactions have been less than positive for a variety of reasons. It is clear there are still many questions that need to be answered, and this page has been set up to do just that:
