We need gas, not hot air…
With the international gas market vastly overpriced and in tatters, shale gas extraction in the UK scenes inevitable. With winter fast approaching, I would have thought, the sooner the better.
No doubt the anti capitalist mobs and “People’s Assembly” loonies will turn up with their hammers, wire cutters and glue, so shale gas extraction sites must be adequately protected.
Military quality fencing should surround the sites, and they should have guards on the gates to prevent ideologically possessed destructive forces from gaining entry…
The UK needs a constant and reliable supply of energy to satisfy business and domestic needs.
We do not need an inadequate supply of energy that only comes when the wind blows and the sun shines.
Germany has gone down the route of destroying its fossil fuel production in favour of wind and solar. By doing that, the Germans have put themselves at the mercy of Vladimir Putin’s Russia, who can switch off Germany’s much-needed energy at the flick of a switch.
The Germans will now be desperately scrabbling around to find a new source of gas for their domestic and industrial needs.
Well done Angela Merkel! Great legacy…
